A walk along the IJmuiden pier is an absolute must. Where else in the world can you walk almost three kilometres out into the sea? Here you stand right in the middle of the North Sea. The wind in your face, the sound of the waves below you and impressive sea ships sailing into the harbour on the horizon.

Bunker Walk

Adventure in the Dunes

Among the marram grass and dune sand lie the concrete giants of the Atlantikwall — silent witnesses to an impressive past.

During this walk you don't just discover the outside. You can go inside, around and underneath. Two bunkers are connected underground. With a flashlight in hand you walk through narrow, dark corridors from one structure to the other.

Rough concrete walls, dark passageways and pure history make this a real expedition. Not a standard walk — but an experience.
